About

If we were having matcha…

I’ve spent 15+ years building brands, partnerships, products, and communities—but the thread running through all of it has always been the same: I’m fascinated by why people care, what makes us feel like we belong, and how thoughtful stories can bring us a little closer to one another.

If you’re curious how someone ends up building a career around books, brands, and belonging, you’re in the right place.

Chapter 1 · Why I care

I’ve always loved books for their stories—and for everything that happens around them.

Feeling seen. Escaping into another world. Wanting to share that world with someone else.

Growing up, my dad and I had a ritual. Every week we’d go to Borders, I’d pick out a new book, and we’d stop for water ice on the way home. At the time, it just felt like our thing. Years later, I realized those afternoons taught me that stories aren’t just something we consume—they’re something we share. They become traditions, recommendations, inside jokes, and tiny pieces of ourselves that somehow find their way into other people’s lives.

Maybe that’s why I’ve always been drawn to fandom. After I finished a book, I didn’t want to leave its world. I wanted the interviews, the behind-the-scenes stories, the fan theories, and the people who noticed the same little details I did. There was something comforting about realizing someone else cared just as much as I did. Long before I had the language for it, I think I was searching for belonging, and in retrospect, I can see that I’ve built my career chasing that same feeling.

Publishing gave me a foundation in story, taste, talent, and fandom. Understanding what readers cared about shaped how I approached creative strategy; bringing authors, creators, and teams together taught me how to carry that strategy through to execution. Across publishing, entertainment, technology, and consumer brands, I keep returning to the same question:

How do we create something people genuinely want to be part of?

Chapter 2 · How I work

From a clear opportunity to something people can feel.

I start by understanding what matters to the audience and what the brand can credibly own. From there, I shape the editorial and creative direction, then bring together the people who can make the strongest version real.

01

Find the opportunity.

Start with the audience, the business need, and the story the brand can uniquely own.

02

Build the editorial world.

Turn that opportunity into a point of view, recurring franchises, formats, and stories. Taste builds trust.

03

Shape the creative.

Give the strategy a creative life through campaigns, content, experiences, and partnerships.

04

Bring the right people together.

Connect teams, talent, creators, agencies, and partners to make the strongest version real.

Chapter 3 · What guides me

Curiosity has been the thread through almost every chapter of my life.

In high school, I taught myself HTML and Photoshop because I wanted to know how to make the coolest Xanga and MySpace page. In college, One Tree Hill introduced me to the idea that book editors existed, so I googled how to become one. As an intern, I kept wandering over to the digital marketing team because I wanted to understand what they were building. Years later, I found myself leading the very brand I’d once been so curious about.

I’ve stopped believing careers have to follow a perfect five-year plan. Mine has been built by paying attention—to what pulls me in, what I want to understand, and where I can be useful. The people who shaped me most made me feel capable. They shared what they knew, invited me into conversations before I felt ready, and challenged me without making me question whether I belonged. That’s the kind of leader I hope to be—and the same feeling I try to create in the work.

Making people feel seen is always the goal.
